Watching the athletes in these Olympic Games in Italy fills me with such joy.
In every event, you can feel their excitement-Not just in the pursuit of victory, but in the pursuit of excellence. Their stories remind us what it means to dedicate your heart to something larger than yourself.
A song that has always been dear to me, “You’ve Gotta Have Heart”, from the musical Damn Yankees, captures this spirit perfectly. It’s a reminder that talent alone is never enough — heart is what carries us across the finish line.
These athletes are champions not only because of medals, but because of their connection to their gifts, their teams, and to something greater than any one moment.
